March 2012
With the completion of the California Physical Fitness Gram tests my classes will no longer be required to do nightly push-ups and curl-ups.
Their last Workout Log is due on March 21, 2012.
Of course it would be to all student's benefit if they continued to do daily exercises. Every Spring we do Fitness Gram and daily exercising will ensure that they are ready and fit.
The 5 Week Progress Reports were due on March 5th. There are several students who still have not returned theirs. A zero score really hurts your overall grade.

February 2012
We are in the final few weeks of preparing for the California Phisical Fitness Gram. Testing will begin the week of March 20, 2012. Continue to do the nightly push ups, curl ups and stretching. Add a few more repetitions each week..
Remember: Proper form is important.
With push-ups your elbows need to bend to about a right angle to count on the test and your body should be a straight line from shoulders to ankles. (see the PUSH UP Tab under HOMEWORK
tab above)
With curl ups your shoulders need to come off the floor, you slide your hands up to your knees and back down to your quadriceps.
Stretching; try doing 'butterfly' and the twist around to help stretch your latissimus dorsi and lower back. When you test, both hands need to reach towards the foot of your straight leg.

[Extra Credit] Remember to bring your Homework Log sheet back on December 1st.
1. The November Workout Log is due in a few days. You will be receiving December's Log sheet on Thursday.
2. Be working on the November nightly push-ups and curl-up and stretching. Remember that on the push-ups your elbows need to bend to about a right angle to count on the test.
3. For the next Push-up test you are expected to complete 10 push-ups. Those of you who first tested on your knees will be expected to complete 5 push-ups on your toes to earn an 'A'. You can do it!
4. Curl ups will be tested in December. Students should be able to complete 10 to pass. Keep working on them every day.

2. Have parent/ guardian fill in Parent Survey. [due October 10, 2011 or asap]
